1. Who We Are and What WellSnax Does
WellSnax is a mobile and web application published by WellSnax LLC for student athletes, their parents and guardians, coaches, and school administrators. WellSnax is intended to be used as part of a school or team's athletic and wellness program to help student athletes make informed choices about fueling, recovery, and mental readiness.
WellSnax provides the following functionality.
-
A fuel code and nutrition display that gives snack and fueling recommendations based on the athlete's activity type
-
A meal planning tool that helps athletes and families plan meals aligned with their training schedule
-
Wellness check ins that ask the athlete short questions about how they are feeling physically and mentally
-
A Next Level Athlete section focused on mental edge and recovery readiness resources
-
An escalation feature that can notify a coach, parent or guardian, or school contact when a wellness check in response suggests an athlete may need additional support
-
An administrative dashboard that lets coaches and school staff oversee content, monitor participation, and manage accounts for their team or school
-
Optional sign in through Google or Facebook, and optional paid subscriptions or features processed through Stripe
This Privacy Policy explains what information WellSnax collects across these features, why we collect it, and the choices available to you.
2. Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information
When you or your school, team, or parent or guardian creates an account, we collect information such as name, email address, birth date or age range, school or team affiliation, and role (athlete, parent or guardian, coach, or administrator). We collect this so we can create your account, place you with the correct team or school, and show you the right features for your role.
Health, Nutrition, and Wellness Information
To provide fuel code recommendations, meal planning, and wellness check ins, we collect information you choose to share such as activity type, dietary preferences, self reported wellness responses, and recovery readiness inputs. We collect this so the app can generate the specific recommendation or check in response the feature is designed to give you. This information is used to personalize recommendations within the app and is not intended to diagnose or treat any medical condition.
Payment Information
If you purchase a subscription or paid feature, payment is processed by our payment processor Stripe, so that we can bill for the feature you selected. WellSnax does not store your full card number. Stripe's own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
Sign In Information
If you choose to sign in using Google or Facebook, we receive basic profile information from those providers such as name and email address, consistent with the permissions you approve at sign in, so that we can create and secure your account without you needing to set a separate password.
Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect certain technical information such as device type, operating system, app version, and general usage data to help us maintain, secure, and improve the app.
Information From Minors
WellSnax is designed for use by student athletes, some of whom may be under 18 and in some cases under 13. Where a user is a minor, we rely on a parent, guardian, school, or team to authorize the account and, where required by law, to provide verifiable parental consent before we collect personal information from a child under 13. [Confirm the specific age thresholds and consent process, for example whether consent is collected directly from parents or is obtained through a participating school or team, with your attorney before publishing.]
3. How We Use Information
-
To create and manage accounts and provide app features such as fuel code recommendations, meal planning, and wellness check ins
-
To route wellness escalations to the appropriate coach, parent or guardian, or school contact
-
To communicate with users, parents or guardians, coaches, and school administrators about the app
-
To process payments for paid subscriptions or features
-
To monitor, maintain, and improve the security and performance of the app
-
To comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances.
-
With our development and hosting partner SkySys and our cloud infrastructure providers, including AWS and Firebase and Google Cloud, who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality and security obligations
-
With Stripe, to process payments
-
With Google or Facebook, only as needed to support sign in features you choose to use
-
With schools, teams, coaches, or parents or guardians connected to a student athlete's account, consistent with the app's intended use and the escalation features described above
-
When required by law or to protect the safety of a user, for example where a wellness check in response indicates a possible safety concern
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as an account remains active and for a reasonable period after that to meet legal, recordkeeping, or safety related obligations.
6. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain uses. Parents and guardians of minor users may also review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information. To make a request, contact us using the information below. See also our Data Deletion Instructions page for the specific steps to request deletion of data connected to Facebook Login.
7. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system can be guaranteed fully secure, and we encourage users to protect their own account credentials.
8. Children's Privacy
We are committed to protecting the privacy of children who use WellSnax. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 without appropriate parental consent obtained directly or through a participating school or team. A parent or guardian who believes we have collected information from a child without proper consent may contact us to request review or deletion of that information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version within the app and on this page with a new effective date.
